Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Is it me or do bugs tend to spawn in similar places? Keep ending up with them by the river and it’s getting very waterlogged and muddy! Might have to resort to the X-talons!!

Fetch might demur, but my wife's bugs and mine seem to fall in different places. Judging by the circle described by a nearby Fetchie's bugs, he lives nearby, but again, the pattern of his bugs is different.
Where our bugs fall might well be affected by activity patterns.
So far as accessibility goes, winter does make some areas less accessible.

Snoot - unsurprisingly, this has come up before. Fetch assures us the game has no memory as to where markers have been placed before but there's plenty of anecdotal reporting of bugs appearing in inconvenient places - in my case, it often seems to be 'where I ran yesterday'

Fizz :-)
Somebody had a theory that this is because where you have just run is the place most likely to have free spots to plant new bugs in.

You'll be telling me that the bugs are caused by 5G phone masts next :-)

Forgot to mention the effect of our internal confirmation biases - we tend only to notice/remember the location of the inconvenient bugs :)

Also, the unrun-out bugs definitely reflect the non-running out pattern of the player.

I'm sure my current bug was caused by the one traffic light on my patch that is owned by someone else :P

Probably the confirmation bias CA as it’s the muddy ones I tend to remember most. Definitely not a 5G conspiracy Fetch - this is West Cumbria we won’t get 5G masts this decade!! 🤣🤣

Bright Strider, I agree that where someone's bugs fall might well be affected by activity patterns.

I think that two of the Fetchies in your area are registered for Fetchpoint but don't actively play, hence their uncleared bugs. One trains intermittently, the other does most of their training outside of their home circle (starting from my village ;-) ), so in your area they appear as not being active, hence different patterns of bugs to yours.
