I think your explanation of the flowers rings true Bright Strider. Definitely had a break from playing. I had better work on the doorstep flower before it vanishes.

If you run near someone else's traffic light you have to pay points and it goes up 4 points for each person that passes it.

One more thing, if the owner doesn't revisit the traffic light it will become available so the next person who does visit it can nab it. I think it's after 7 days, you can tell because the light changes from red to yellow.

Interesting, FetchPoint is clearly attracting interest just now and I suspect it has been since the lockdown started. Several Fetchies have reported earning new badges.
A few days ago, I hit the 10,000 points threshold and briefly reached 18th place in the rankings. Now, with my score at the same level, I am in 30th place.

I have relocated my home circle to grab more flowers as all runs and rides done from home location and routes minimise distance from home. It seems to be starting to pay off a little bit.

I would agree Synge. Think quite a few folk will have found it helpful as well to vary more local routes, just with a purpose.
I've dropped in and out a few times. Was as high as 8th at one point, I think with a score of just under 15000. Just couldn't manage the 30 days bug free, hence my own reasons for doing it now.
