I flatly refuse to take statins even though my current gp is not happy with that. They make me ill and as my BP and cholesterol are fine and its been 17 years since my suspected TIA, so I'm not going to take a preventative that hinders me from exercising etc.
Having an incentive(s) fairly does help focus your attention to what you are putting in your mouth! 16 days till we fly out to Spain ............. not that I'm counting or anything!
ION I'm featuring on a reel on my gym's Facebook and Instagram pages ..... again! I think I should ask for commission

@DQ surely if they make you ill, your Dr should support you in not taking them?

I feel doctors can get so caught up in pills being the answer. Many years ago my consultant discharged me from hospital because I refused drug treatment after thorough research that all it did was mask the problem and give you horrendous side effects. I eventually found a fantastic consultant who used laser surgery to treat (endometriosis) forever grateful I stuck to my guns.
Well done NSC that’s a good loss in under a month

I think part of the problem is that a lot of the public expects a pill for everything
Takes responsibility away from them
Diabetes? Don’t worry about trying to change diet and lifestyle habits have a pill etc It’s why we are becoming resistant to some drugs

When I first had my TIA the gp at that time put me on aspirin, statins and BP meds as a preventative. I just went with it as I was scared of a full stroke but they made me so ill. I told gp I'd rather take my chances than live like that so we came to a compromise that I'd just take the BP ones. It took me a year to find ones that I could tolerate and I've been on them since and BP and cholesterol levels are just fine.
