Always good news DQ when the smaller size fits
I was saying about 3rd time lucky for exercising while I'm away. Saw my Mum in hospital this afternoon and she said she wanted a little sleep before they brought dinner round. So I got to the hotel earlier than expected and had time to do a fast 4ml walk before it got dark. I had my head torch with me and only had to put it on for the last mile or so. Having walked, I didn't feel quite so guilty about my pint of beer and pudding just now when I had dinner

.. forgot to add those Paramo trousers I ordered on Tuesday arrived today! (Mrs Wm reported they arrived via FedEx just after 12 o'clock). As I mentioned, it will be interesting to see if they fit okay or not, given they're a 2" bigger waist than I'm used to having to order.

Running club AGM last night - lots of chat about running but a beer and a free buffet resulted in a 2lb gain over yesterday! So back on best behaviour today!

Evening all.
The scales this morning were very kind
Here’s the thing - been out with our monthly walking group today (nearly 8 miles on Dartmoor - crisp, cold, sunny and lovely, though the ascents did me in a bit towards the end), and based on past experience, the scale will show a significant loss tomorrow. Mainly dehydration, because it typically comes back over the next couple of days.
So, I need to decide what to call my official weight for this week…. given that tomorrow’s will probably be very flattering, but could then lead to a sts or even increase the following week.
I could use today’s weight instead. Or Saturday’s - since my “start weight” was from 6th Jan, which was a Saturday.
Or I could chill - it doesn’t really matter - stick with Friday being my official day, use tomorrow’s weight and just accept that progress is very uneven, and it’s the longer term that matters.
Or I could shift my official day to Saturday (I do have a weigh in for last Saturday….. don’t know why I didn’t use it, perhaps becauseI rejoined this thread last Friday and wanted to join the spreadsheet straight away)
Maybe I’ll do that,

I guess we all probably need to figure out how to relax around the bounce from salt/dehydration etc and just hang in there for longer trends rather than the short term panic which is all too easy if one reading is high..... Still avoiding scales here - week 5 after surgery. Still suffering from porridge brain, but less discomfort, and my leg feels stronger. Seems like progress.

Rev, I really think you are overthinking things. Just use tomorrow’s weight as like you say over the long term it will even things out.

Choose the day that works for you longer term and then aim to stick to that one. The small ups/downs will all smooth out - it's the long term trend you're after.

It wouldn’t be the first time.
