Congratulations LD. That diet certainly worked for you.
Yeah it’s a bit hard but I will try my best. Breakfast and lunch aren’t an issue it’s just the main meal.

Well done LD! Brilliant that you've reached your goal, and in a way which suited you longer term.
I've just finished reading "The Obesity Code" and was interested to see the theory that it's not just blood sugar levels which affect weight gain but insulin levels generally - and that protein raises insulin levels, even though it has a minimal affect on blood sugar. Hence the advantage of full-fat dairy over fat-free, as the full-fat raises insulin less. There is something called the insulin index which measures this in a similar way to the glycemic index's measurement of blood sugar levels. While there is some correlation, dairy stands out as having a far higher insulin index than glycemic index.
He also advocates fasting as a way to manage insulin levels - i.e. to introduce a natural variation as the body would have had centuries ago, which helps against insulin resistance.
Is this going to stop me having skimmed milk in my morning coffee? Not sure, as that's more to do with my taste than any calorie or fat concerns. There are far worse habits to be addressed first for me.

That's an interesting piece of information, Sallykate. I'm quite enjoying having full fat milk on my porridge, but couldn't stomach it in my tea - far too 'greasy'!

I'm sure there was a different proposal put forward as to why full-fat dairy was better than skimmed milk products, from at least 10 years ago, but I can't remember what it was. I use semi-skimmed milk in tea but all cheese/yogurt etc is full fat - I'd rather not have it than have low fat versions.

Morning, bit disappointed today
My scales showed a tiny loss of 0.25 which although I've have no kitchen i have made good choices I accepted as last week's 4lb was a good loss even for a first week but when I went to SW their scales say up 1lb which I really don't believe.... See how it irons out for next week.

Keep on keeping on LG, The scales move in strange ways sometimes, but the right choices will mean the numbers go in the right direction over time.
My scales have been up and down all week - I can see what having a big plate of pasta for dinner after a long run does to scale-weight quite very clearly the next morning, but overall for this week I'm reporting a loss of ~0.8lb
I'm almost down a stone for the year now, but so slow!

- actually, something has gone wrong with my entries on the spready - according to start weight I've lost a stone, but the running total says 13lb. I'm going to correct the running total, go by start weight and celebrate a stone lost

Keep on doing what you are doing LG, hopefully next week will reward you for your hard work.
Well done RH - it may feel slow but that stone is in touching distance.
Nothing to report this end apart from hormonal migraines and no exercise. Hopefully I will feel better and brighter soon.
