I've a 5k race tomorrow evening at 7:30, but the forecast is now 32 at 7pm and 30 with thunderstorms at 8pm. I'm not in race condition so I'm canning it

It's not as warm here tonight as it was 12 months ago when I did a flat local 5k race. I'd have entered again, but this year they're not doing a four-race series, only the June race which I missed because I was away on holiday.

Understandable. Mr Ness has told me he’s not going to let me do my weight training session tomorrow but to save it until the weekend when it’s cooler.

Same thing for me ThorntonRunner, I've pulled out of the Sale Sizzler. I can't race over 20ish degrees

I miss my parents' basement... I thought it was weird that no one had basements here...always nice and cool as it's partially underground.

I miss my London flat. It was freezing in the winter but lovely and cool in the summer. I’ve set my alarm for 0430 in an attempt to beat the heat

25deg at the mo and it's not even 9 o'clock. Surprisingly, our house is really quite cool in this weather - we keep all the curtains closed and the windows open and because the walls are thick, it seems to work. Might have to move the office over there til the weather goes. Or stick my feet in the fishpond.
