Re LindsD piece, which was great, I just say to any group I'm running with now where there are people I don't know "I'll be going slowly, hope that's ok." Then the onus is on them to say no go with another group or to slow down to my pace. I refuse to feel guilty for running at the pace that is right for me.
Great podcast as always guys. By the way for FF, I thought we could already do timing as a backup on Fetch on web on android phone. Didn't Fetch do a simple start / stop feature on web? Have I mismembered? I can't find in menus mund! G
There is a small group of us that run at lunchtimes at work, but it's not very organised, and tends to be based around a whatsapp group conversation and whoever has the time / inclination on any given day... Pace and distance is always decided on the day, depending on who turns up and what people want to do.
Mostly it's a purely social run, at a pace everyone is happy with. Other times if there is only 2 or 3 of us we might use it to push / bully* people into running that bit quicker.
[* - If they ask me to run at a given pace then start complaining when it's tough for them, it's my job to push them on right? All done in good humour, and nothing stopping them from ignoring me ]
I was definitely not running along my street trying to lick my elbows.
Great contribution from Linds. I would say that when work is crazy that it is even more important to run. In the winter, running at lunch time will also get you some scarce sunlight.
Podcast length was spot on today thanks. My only gripe is I found a tree in blossom so stopped to take a photo of it and had to faff about getting the recording to where I last listened. Same thing happened last week so I still haven't heard the archers recording
Looking forward to Bedford parkrun on Saturday, Katie! When you asked us to tell you about our Fancy equivalents, did you mean a post-parkrun cake venue or a general cake venue? Or doesn’t it matter?
Lovely to have your company on my lunchtime walk today. I decided to walk rather than run as I'm still feeling a bit tired and achy from training already this week and one of the showers is out of order at work. A bit of fresh air, green(ish) space and gentle listening was just what I needed. Great to hear from LindsD and Fenland Flier too.
Excited to get a little mention at the end The rumours are true - I do have audio from my treasure hunting ultra; I still haven't edited it together yet, though... will endeavour to do so before it's too late!
Your Saturday morning cake social sounds like a very good idea. I look forward to hearing the resulting outside broadcast. I don't really have a favourite equivalent. one of the parents at school did give me a voucher for a bakery in Budoran so I will have to go and see what that's like at some point.
Good to hear that Linds managed to meet her work running group. We used to have a run from work, but there were usually only two of us. It was good having a regular day organised though and having the other person to run with certainly made sure that the run got done, even if one of us didn't really feel like going. I think we usually ended up glad that we had gone out.
Just finished listening on my run this morning. Thank you for your kind words. I haven't managed to go this week, but will try for next week.
Really great episode, just the right length for this morning. I have to say the best cake we have is when people bring it from parkrun. The cake in the cafe is nice, but only usually two varieties. Louiseruns and I usually have ice cream. Coffee flavour. With a flake.

Contributors We love getting contributions. Here's how:
1) find somewhere with minimal background noise 2) recording on a smartphone is fine 3) start with "Hello Fetchies, it's..." 4) a couple of minutes is a good length 5) don't worry about ums, aahs and pauses. We can edit them out. 6) email the file to podcast@fetcheveryone.com
