The more I watch this (and I must admit to doing so a couple of times day!) the more I see and hear. Today I noticed how GetOutTheDoor appears to almost dance with her double bass I find it interesting to hear different parts coming to the fore depending on whether I listen to my phone, iPad, or PC and whether I use headphones or remote speaker. It's a different joy every time. Thanks again to Edj and everyone else. |

I've done a "the making of" blog here - fetcheveryone.com/blog-view.php?id=30204 - to give a bit more of a 'behind the scenes' view if anyone is interested. I was chatting to a friend last week who used to be a West End musical director (MD). He had been talking to a friend of his who is currently MD of one of the main West End shows. They had decided to do a lockdown video - and followed a similar process to us. Apparently he spend three days editing the audio trying to get things in time - and this was for a professional cast who had been rehearsed to within an inch on their lives. Hearing this made me think that we had done pretty well! |

Please can I join in the next time? I'm a rather bad violinist. I've also got a junior violinist, a junior cellist, an opera singer and a cat in the house though of them all, probably the cat is most likely to join in. We also have a piano that noone can actually play though since you have to mix it anyway, I could do one hand at a time (joke. I would not subject anyone to my piano-bashing.)

I will have to dust off my clarinet and see if I can still make a noise with it! It must be 30 years since I played.

It will take a long time before I can make my trumpet sound even vaguely good. Good thing I play a few other instruments!

You might be surprised Garfield. It might only take a week of consistency. I recently tried my old flute and could barely make a note. A few hours of practice and I was much better. What other instruments do you play? |

The trumpet's mouthpiece poses its own challenge JCB! Piano, Flute, Clarinet, Sax, Oboe, French horn, Trumpet...in past years. Flute is one instrument I can pick up with very little work...in fact, my contribution was done after not touching a flute for 2 years (my bad!).

I agree. I bought a cheap euphonium during lockdown and played it for the first time in 30 years. I was really pleased to find I can remember all the notes, finger dexterity came back quite quickly but lip not so much. But after many weeks of building up it’s definitely getting there. Responds best to “little and often”. |
