A good thing to keep clutter down is if you buy something new then something old has to go.

I'm in. I can't let go of anything, just in case. I've been using Flylady.net for years and just recently foundhttp://www.365lessthings.com/3365-2/

This week's post is a cluttering game. Start with, say three forks from a draw. The next person has to declutter something beginning with the last letter from the item before, so in this case the letter 'k' and so on.

I can see some old makeup that needs to go. 'P' anyone?

Freecycle is good for getting rid of bulky stuff, and stuff that you might not think to take to a charity shop. People who own allotments seem to have ingenious uses for anything you might consider to be junk :-)

I like to group things together - it makes it easier to see when you've got too many.

People take any old shit on Freecycle. My tip also takes 'stuff for re-use' if it's too good to chuck. And our bin men take textiles which are too shabby for charity. I just put some out today.

".... This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day."
