can someone from this thread please come and talk to my wife about this!!!

when the kids were young we played "keep, kids or chuck": we went through a cluttered room item by item. If the kids wanted it and it still worked, then fine we'd keep it. If it worked and they didn't want it we'd "give it to the needy kids", which actually meant me taking it to a charity shop. If they didn't want it and it was broken we'd "chuck" it, which in reality was me taking it to the recycling centre. The kids thought it was a great game and we cleaned many a room this way.

Ah for the good ol' days...

This may be appropriate for the members of this thread, but only if you have a fleecy-esque approach to language....

I got a tip but can't remember where from. If you are heading upstairs, take something with you. Obviously not something like the toaster, that would be daft. Some item of stuff that belongs upstairs but has ended up downstairs. Or vice versa. I try to do that but sometimes I will be up and down stairs loads before I remember it. Mid you, it's all time on your feet. Does decluttering count as cross training on the training log?

Help advice and support for declutterers

Special May Challenge

theminimalists.com

".... This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day."
