Just started listening to the Marie Kondo book on audible. It’s sounding rather ambitious so far! Aim for excellence. Do it all in one go. I’m scared! Has anyone had success with this method?

Agree on the book thing will give away books once I'm done with them. May keep a few if I'm particularly found of and have a nice cover

CK2 - I read the Marie Kondo book, decided as an evangelist she was going a bit far for me (such as throwing away ALL paperwork) and so I cherry-picked some of her ideas and left the rest on the 'nice idea, but not for me at the moment' pile.

WtnMel - a very helpful solution. I'm struggling with the 'get rid of things you dont't love' concept as if I did that with my clothes I'd have no work clothes left so I'lk have to use my common sense. Definitely some ideas to try out though.
We've done intermittent book sorting and it's interesting that I get rid of slightly more each time. My mum used to be a librarian and practically lives in a library so this is a real challenge for her - I think she buys books faster than she gives them awy?

about to attach the pile! loads of running kit .... will get rid of tops as I have loads and even if/when I lose weight a large top isn't a bad thing but I will keep nice legs/shorts/tri stuff to shrink into

Anything that isn't charity-shoppable could be cut up to make cleaning cloths. Take a photo of anything you're never going to wear again (which is probably most of it) but feel sentimental about, then take the scissors to it
