I presume using a different address he can just create a new account? Only the Fetch chess league matters, after all!

Thanks Happy G. The danage was done before I could act. Having a large cash sum on deposit and many years of paying my credit card off in full each month counted for nothing. The Sainbury's algorithm decided to ger rid of me and that was it. I have learned my lesson though.

Not good experience mole-thing, you're right. Sorry to hear that (as a person who ran, well in the team that ran, the systems for Sainsbury's Bank loans, if it was in the time 2014-2018! ) G

I won’t hold that against you G. I promise this is my last mention of S*******y’s on this thread. Some days after I had moved my savings elsewhere and closed my remaining accounts, S*******y’s Bank contacted me wanting to know why they had lost my custom. They invited me to a customer service focus group, which they were proposing to pay me to attend. I conclude that at least some firms that use algorithms in this way have absolute no idea what they they are doing. Chess.com may be in this category.
