I like the idea of pyramid-ing, it'll help the cream rise to the top faster.
The way I see it, keep D1 - D3 as is, one up, one down, but two down for D3
D4 - D5 become D4a and D4b, one up (to D3), 2 down
D6 - D9 become D5a to D5d, one up, 2 down, etc
Means those bouncing between divisions could still end up with different opponents by bouncing to a different subdivision...

I know, more complex than mine, too. Just piggybacking on other's ideas, it's a good way to flatten the structure to reduce people's feelings of helplessness as an experienced player mows through the lower divisions, which I know can really knock motivation to play.

Thanks for the game Weath. I think you could've caused me more problems if you'd played on, but it's always tough to lose the queen.
I think that's secured me at least 2nd in the league, which I'm pretty pleased with!

I hadn't a hope of coming back from there JK (and I was itching for a run! 😉)
Heaven knows why I moved my queen to the flank (I may have had a fleeting plan somewhere, who knows) and I was fighting a losing battle not to lose both it ALSO the rook in the following moves after you forked the king/queen. Ke2 when I did was my actual downfall in the end I think
You out outmaneuvered me all round there - nice one!
