My second game in the AFS match ended fairly abruptly after she got carried away on an attack and I trapped her queen. 1 point each after a silly mistake cost me the first game. It looks like we are now 11.5/3.5 ahead 😀

I followed Mac's suggestion a few pages back, and started a couple of games against non-Fetchies, to see if I could boost my rating. Then I promptly forgot about them, and lost 10 points through my first ever timeout :-/

I was offered a draw a few days ago in my game but declined it as it wasn't a drawn position. It's a little complicated ATM though so maybe I should offer a draw back and just accept the half point given how well we're doing, lol.

Interesting looking at the profile of my AFS opponent - she does a lot of puzzles and has a puzzle rating of 2,511 vs a day game rating of 1,567 - and I felt it showed in how she played the game, lots of sharp attacks and traps. My two ratings are both very close (1,426 and 1,443) and I wondered if anyone else finds puzzles useful and how their ratings compare?

I only play Fetchies in daily now, but I started while I was playing ransoms which likely got my ranking up given I started at a default of 800.

My puzzle rating is c. 300 points higher than my daily rating which probably reflects that when I try puzzles, I really concentrate because I know there is a correct answer, whereas in daily games I'm prone to throwing out dubious moves when I'm not sure what to do and thereafter have a tendency to treat the game as lost. Something I need to work on!
