Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I’m a bit worried by the talk of bans as looking back I’ve had a few games recently with high 90s accuracy, which surprised me at the time. Oh well, I’ll have to wait and see if I’m thought to be suspicious! I’ve also had lots of mistakes too though!

Now realising what is being alleged chess.com will permanently ban someone they think is using a chess engine.

Via the link above, they have some stats here: chess.com

As I said earlier they are quite strong on this and have even banned top players as the article says.

Good to read the chess link on the fairplay rules. Some of the terminology I don't understand. What's a tablebase?

A tablebase is for at the end of the game with few pieces - with todays supercomputers all six piece positions were analysed to the end of the game quite a while ago, and I believe 7 piece endgames where somplted a couple of years ago. Eg: en.chessbase.com
