Thanks all... that one on page 37 looks awesome. I'll keep them in mind, but they are a bit older than I'd like. |

Hi Running Ronnie, We still have ours, and its been brilliant (3 years or so in.) Parts and specialists are plentiful, the FB group is brilliant if you're likely to do stuff yourself (not me) We happily drive to South of France in it and its been all over UK. Cheaper than VW, but not as nice on the eye perhaps? My mum has one too. Pretty reliable things. |

Hello, I've been lurking here for a while. With the recent mentions of Bongos I thought I would share a recent pic of mine. I have better pics somewhere but this will have to do for starters. Van is 2002 plate was imported/converted 2012. Has sink, cooker, fridge, pop up roof, rock n roll bed. Casual observers mistake it for a VW 🤣 I don't own a car, mostly travel by bike or on foot. I went for this Bongo because it was within my small budget and being sold by a friend emigrating to Lanzarote to retire and go cycling every day! |

Do you need special insurance for a campervan or just normal car insurance? Going to see a van tomorrow. It looks really nice, but maybe not exactly what I'm looking for. Worth a look though. A wee bit older than I'd have liked and only 84bhp. What you think? facebook.com |

Ok my two pennies worth but I am not an expert. Insurance - yes there sre plenty of specialised companies out there for Campervan/conversions etc. Make sure all is covered, all the mods inside as well as the van. We are with Greenlight Insurance and they have every modification listed on our van. It is insured as a van plus all the extras. As for the van - it looks lovely but is that really what they are going now? Wouldn't expect to get that for ours and it is 66 plate T6 - but I could be out of touch. |

C-Cat looks like a good van. Ronnie - also looks good, let us know how you get on. We have had the call that our van is ready so we are going to collect it this time next weekend. Apparently collecting new vehicles is allowed under covid restrictions. So we will be looking at insurance today. That's good advice Mandymoo. I know the Alphard fb group has lots of info about insurance so I think we will start there. The prices of similar vans to ours have gone up a few thousand pounds since we paid the deposit last August. |
