So, Gobi, from those two photos, it looks as if all you need to do is make sure that Mrs Gobi never drives the van and only ever approaches or leaves it from the nearside, then she'll be happy about the wheels she can see?

Right, back to battery care for a moment.
I think we've established that, if a nearby electricity supply is available, you can pretty much plug in the van for as long as you like and the leisure battery will be happy.
For the main van battery, there's been discussion in the last few days on my FB group about vans not starting in the cold weather. Someone has found a device that costs less than £30 on Amazon that is supposed to be a cheap solar-powered trickle charger. Essentially, you put a small solar panel on your dashboard and plug it into a live cigar lighter (ie one which doesn't need the ignition to be turned on to work) and that keeps the van battery charged. You don't even need to open the bonnet. Does that sound too good to be true or am I sensible placing an order?

Anyone got an opinion on a Mazda Bongo?
I don't particularly want one, but there are loads on the market...
They're cheap, plentiful, not hideous...
They all seem quite old though.
Just wondering if it's worth considering one for our first van.

They seem to have a loyal following Ronnie, not manufactured any more so that's the reason most on them seem to be getting on a bit. My mate has one and I have to say it's a nice little van, he loves it.

One of the lads that works with my wife has one and loves it. A guy I used to work with had one and loved it. As NE says, they seem to have a loyal following. Never fancied one myself, but it's horses for courses, innit?
