have fun :)

unless Husband gat get some midweek time off, we've no plans for August - shame as the weather is OK here in the dry East but neither of us fancy weekend traffic. Looking forward to September

Good luck @geordiegirl !

@Rosehip that’s why we’ve come to Warwick, didn’t fancy battling to Devon or Cornwall even though it’s only an hour down the road from us, usually.

Took the van just for a drive out sports massage then to a friends it drives so nice and I really love driving a van… who knew

Water filled, fridge out for a clean and an airing, mugs on board for cup of tea and all being well we’ll go out tomorrow for a drive and maybe stop over. Won’t be far away.

Question for campervanners with solar panels. The solar panels on our van don’t seem to be charging the batteries OH is investigating but thought I’d ask Incase anyone has had similar issues.

When we viewed the van the lights didn’t come on batteries flat but we thought the solar isolator was switched off and consequently why they didn’t charge. However isolator has been on (batteries still fine) but apparently solar isn’t charging them. TIA

Solar panels can be prone to failure. A particular issue is them overheating and this is often related to them being installed directly onto a metal roof with inadequate air circulation. In my experience the industry has learnt quite a lot about this in the last 7 or 8 years, so the older the installation the more prone they will be to this. Also worth bearing in mind that the lifetime of a solar panel is meant to be around 10 years AFAIK.

Also how clean is the panel? The tops of vans are prone to getting covered in a film of dirt that will hinder the operation of your panel.
