This is probably my longest non-stop trip in the van, at 7 nights. I usually go 1-4 nights. I think 6 before is the longest.

On the longer trips like this, I do start fancying a larger van. I tend to pack as light as possible, so on the longer trips all space is filled.

After the question about dealing with wet kit, I’ve had rather a lot of it to deal with so far this week. Yesterday I had a brainwave and used the hairdryer on stuff (obviously that only works on sites with hook up). I still have some wet kit, but it’s not as bad as it was.

Sitting in the van with a cuppa in Coniston now :-)

@forest plodder I'm in both clubs (savings with discount codes just about pay for memeberships) and was planning on a few DA trips with the CCC - I think we should have been in Kendal this weekend - but stuff hasn't quite worked out the last couple of months - hopefully the next two will be better.

Camping in tent/ car I used to hang stuff up in car and go for a drive with heating on full and windows open - if I needed it again, otherwise it was black bin bag and deal when I got home

For me, as someone else implied, the main expenses of running a van are the cost itself (a couple of 10s of thousands at least for a newish one), MOT, insurance, upkeep, depreciation, and of course fuel for most, unless you’ve got an electric powered van. A few quid extra here or there for a site with the services I want is the least of the worry for me, really.

Not really. It wasn’t the burner - that’s perfect. It’s running fine on electric, and switches between that and cab battery no problem. I’ll need to use it on gas next weekend, so that will be the real test…
