Just joined the thread. Thinking of getting a camper van and I have my eye on a Peugeot Boxer-based Tourne 6.0, for one thing because it is well insulated and I am based in northern Europe. Has anyone any experience of Tourne? Couldn't find any posts about this brand. It is 6m long, diesel 165 hp, manual gear box, sleeps 3-4. Want it for two for running touring round Europe. Seems well made.

It looks as if they are a pretty recent introduction to the UK market and Norway seems to be the only established market at present.

Just catching up - it seems like a while...
To answer a previous question - we struggled to find any kind of van that would work for us so ended up 'biting the bullet' to buy new. We've had to order it from that 'up north' place, so will hope we don't have to go back to the dealer too often as it will be quite a trek.
I'm trying not to dream too many dreams before the van is ready for collection though.

Thanks for the comments on my question about a Peugeot Torne 6.0. I wasn't too clear over whether they are seen in UK or not. I saw one down the road from me (Norway) on a run and thought it looked good.
There wasn't much on youtube. There was a Danish review, which we watched but which gives me brain-ache as a language to listen to. But that was enough to prompt a look on the national market app. By a fluke there was one for sale, used, just come in in the local Peugeot dealer.
We had a look and it was better than I expected. The dealer has only just got it in from the original owner who they supplied it to in 2018. It has a lithium leisure battery, and a solar panel in addition to std spec, which I didn't expect. Heating is electric underfloor and a diesel heater. (Also a set of winter wheels, essential here.) Aircon only in the driver cabin. Shower and toilet, gas Dometic for cooking, 12/220 fridge.
I think it is built in Slovenia. Their USPs are good insulation and well-built furniture (veneered solid wood, if I understand correctly). I think we will go for it. The price is about 65% of what it might be new since Sept 1st 2021. It has 51000 km on the clock. I think that's about fair for local prices. (Cars are heavily taxed in Norway so I won't scare you with the price; we've decided not to wait until an electric camper comes along, such as the VW ID Buzz, which will no doubt cost a packet.

From a spec perspective, that sounds good for off-grid stuff, if you want to go that route. Good choice on the insulation - I’d also recommend www.winterised.com for their articles on insulation and ‘properly’ winterised vehicles.

Vehicle taxes (and import taxes) in Norway are phenomenal. Friends of ours went from Aberdeen to Stavanger to work for a few years. They’d literally just bought a Mercedes Vito just before they got posted and had planned to take it with them. They ended up choosing to sell it at a big loss and buy a less good one in-country as it was the most cost effective solution!
