Swifts are being spotted here and there; not by me!
Maybe the crazy temperatures forecast for southern Spain (40C!) in the next few days might push more migrants our way. It may just result in a lot of migrants dying, however.

One definite swallow and one either swallow or house martin. Always takes a few to get my eye back in after they've been away. Can't buy a cuckoo yet

Swallows low over the wheat fields this morning, very noisy reed warbler(s) by the river-ish. Lots of chiffs and a couple of blackcap along the old railway path. A couple of songs I couldn’t place in a generally very birdsong filled run

A few swallows this afternoon, and, surprisingly, a tawny flew across the road in front of me. Something must have disturbed its slumbers!

I think there were sand martins swooping around over the aire in Leeds city centre this evening - I thought that's what they were and a search online suggests that they've been at that specific spot in previous years.

Lucky to spot this nest while the swan wasn’t sat on her clutch

Not sure if swallow or housemartin: disappearing under the eaves of a neighbour's house.

Up in the moors and something flew straight across in front of me, pigeon or slightly larger sized, generally dark (probably grey) uppers, and a large, square, brilliant white and hugely distinctive rump.
Feels like this should be obvious, so what am I missing?
