2 baby blackbirds being fed today. I know they're babies because they're bigger than the parents.

Today's run punctuated by the sound of quite a few woodpeckers. Or just one following us.
And a cuckoo.

During our 4 mile walk yesterday we saw grouse, pheasant, coaltits, ducks, geese, swans, heron and snipe .......... oh! and a red deer!

Went to a local good spot for cuckoo at lunchtime, but no luck. I did get a common sandpiper

Been to a local nature reserve today. Heard cuckoo. Saw 2 Hobby, Sedge Warblers, Snipe and Redshank. Amongst others.

No night herons here. Hadn't even heard of them until this morning!!

Though, I may have also seen harriers over the moors today. At first I thought it was a large crow, but the wings and flight didn't look right for crows. Also a possible yellow wagtail, usual grouse, and various other smaller moorland birds that I'm not quick/clever enough to identify.

Plus two hares. And disappointingly quite a lot of litter.

I saw some little ducklings the other day, not heard a cuckoo yet, although I did go to a Cuckoo Fair today.
