Juvenile starling central here - their parents have shown them where my feeders are. Noisiest week of the year until they all drift back to the field edges

Same where I am today RH. They started at silly o'clock this morning and are still going.

We found a jackdaw nest in the housing of an old wind turbine tonight. Very loud youngsters every time the parents flew in.
Then the majestic sight of some kind of harrier, I think, on the run afterwards.

I’ve noticed a few small groups of post breeding starlings. Spring is over for them

4 pairs of starlings in my roof, but it won't be long before the young fledge. They are definitely the messiest birds in the world; it's a relief they are only around to nest, then I will hardly see them until next spring.
Still they are red listed so I will keep cleaning the bird feeder. And the windows. And the car.

My poor 🚘 !
The starlings pop in for a feed occasionally all year round and enjoy the leatherjackets in the lawn, but it’s chaos at the moment

A red kite, I'm fairly certain, just south of Middlesbrough tonight. Never seen one anywhere near here before, nor anywhere this far east, though I do think they are beginning to spread further afield than their reintroduction sites.
And so many curlews on tonight's run, as well as one laughing Professor Yaffle.
