Terrible story in our local town park and aviary. How can people do this?

Sad news, HappyG. Poor Malcolm (and Louis). Some people are just horrible human beings. Unfortunately, even if the “positive line of inquiry” leads to the culprit(s), I doubt they will suffer any meaningful consequences. |

While looking that up I read another BBC article about 10 teens killing an 18 year old in a random attack, so I suppose it's not just animals that are being attacked.

Yes, I saw that too. Nothing could possibly justify their actions, but to do it just because the collective mood took them is perhaps worse than if there’d been an actual grievance behind it, rather than a perceived slight, or whatever triggered the event. There’s something very wrong when this happens, especially when one of the group has a “Rambo knife” about their person. Someone made a disturbing decision that day. |

Saw some juvenile greenfinch yesterday. I don't see a lot of greenfinch around here now so that was good. On the other hand, goldfinch are having a resurgence. There are many more around than I've seen for some time. Is this a local phenomenon? |

I now have an idea for politically neutral bunting I only have orange bunting... So was in two minds: either one says what a spoilsport, the Dutch woman, no bunting... Or: look at that Dutch woman purposefully antagonising us by putting up ORANGE bunting... You never win in this village since its takeover by the wealthy retired incomer brigade... Not been invited to any celebrations in my own village. Only the two neighbouring villages, where proper locals still dominate But: BUNTING! going to borrow a printer and laminator or the use thereoff! |
