Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

👍

Curiously, this question crossed my mind this afternoon. No idea why. Well done to him.

Well done to him too, getting round the BG route in less than 24 hours is a big deal after that.

I haven't managed to get up this summer at all but I have a rare window of opportunity on Thurs / Friday this week. I was wondering if anyone could comment on ground conditions right now? It's the end of the summer so I suppose it's about as dry as it's going to get?

Asking as I'd like to spend some time in the fells above Longsleddale but the books tell me that the ground up there is notoriously boggy. I don't suppose there's going to be a better time than now unless I can get up in Feb when the ground might be frozen.

Thanks!

@Windsor Wool It's still pretty boggy but supposed to be dry and sunny all week (it certainly is today) so may dry out a little.

yes of course it's nice this week, *sighs* although it wouldn't be if I'd have had my planned week there - instead of the one my family rearranged for me
