Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Thanks guys. It’s confusing for me. I’m going to stick with downloading routes I think as assume they will be ‘legal’.

Depends where you're downloading routes from hp. Many of the komoot ones round here (New Forest) are not 'legal'.
Walking - it's fairly easy, any path (green) on an OS map and then any of the 'shaded area'.
Cycling - any of the bridleways, (long green dashes) (*although I've nevr cycled there!)

Or when you know roughly where you'll be, ask here, you'll get plently of recommendations,

Worth looking at routes via a guide book or online download too if you want to keep it safe.

Most paths in the popular places are obvious.

I had been trying to work out if I could ride from my accommodation but it doubles mileage.

Walking wise, as long as you are on open land, see ramblers.org.uk you can walk where you like.

In practise, in the Lakes, when you're above 250 metres (sometimes a lot less altitude) you can go where you please.

That route you posted says the old railway line is closed, but it is now open again.
