Sorry Ros - missed you again! I did run bit of Sunday's course with a Fetchie, but I can't remember her name (I struggle to remember anyone's name, so don't feel offended!).

Yes,made my eyes leak listening to the sheep farmer - and cross that United Utilities can be so hypocritical as to put forward ideas where others lose out whilst doing so much damage themselves

Must look the programme up on catch up. Have fond memories of a night at Black Sail Hut 40 years ago. Paraffin lights and a bowl of water in the dorm for washing . I suspect it will have changed a bit.

It’s about 40 years since I stayed at Black Sail with the church youth club.
Can’t believe how far we bunch of young teens walked with huge packs and heavy boots!

TR it's been updated a bit but it still has a lovely rustic feel. Several of us on here had a great weekend there 6 years ago celebrating SimonF's 50th. The weather was fairly wild (it was working itself up for the 2015 floods about a week later) and after getting a good freezing soaking in heavy rain and sleet on the Saturday morning we spent a very pleasant afternoon/evening hunkered down eating and drinking. A very memorable weekend.

Yup! And you'd never have seen that red waterproof before either (bought after I lost my old one just before I needed one as compulsory kit for the NDW50 - still haven't worked out where it went).
Yes that programme was really good. From the farming angle, the information wasn't unexpected after reading James Rebanks' Shepherd's Life, but it wasn't the content I'd expected.
