How about Tarn Hows, away from built up areas and you can catch bits of the Cumbria Way and other trails

How about the car park at the top of Walna Scar Rd (if that’s what the tarmac bit is called)

Other option is to head up to the car park at Blea Tarn and have a run on Lingmoor.
Or if you want deserted, but further away, the road from Ulpha to Eskdale Green is always extremely quiet and you could park up there and go for a potter on Ulpha Common
Or even the road over Dunnerdale Fells - and you could run up to Caw from there.

- fozzy, see my blog - I'd thought about Blea Tarn because I could have a look at the L50 route whilst there. My blog shows I shouldn't be trusted with ideas, hence asking here

Where's the other Blea tarn?
I'm orienteering at Summerhouse Knott on the Saturday and thought about heading over to Coniston afterwards, but hadn't realised that the LT marathon was on, so might avoid that then!
Hawkshead might be an alternative.

There’s another Blea tarn near Watenath. BoggyLand. Always.

Walmart Scar is an excellent spot for dark nights.
