You could do the same as the delivery van and drive up Garburn road. Should be nice and quiet, and no other headlights to worry about.
I suspect the walna scar car park could be quite busy overnight with people/vans?

I may have just been in Keswick at the ‘right time’ as there was a large-ish crowd of fell-running types and Chris Gaskin came in to finish his unsupported Wainwrights… (I’m afraid to say I had to Google Chris Gaskin)

This morning's Radio 4 'Today' prog. [6-9am] included a number of onsite reports and interviews at different locations in the Lake District. Nick Robinson drew the not-very-short straw of meeting farmers, owners of small businesses and environmental workers inter alia. Return of tourists and greater amounts of littering also came up.

"littering" is putting it mildly. Buttermere looked like a war zone yesterday, I understand that Wasdale was worse.

Bet it's tourists from less than ten miles away that are doing most of the littering.

Yesterday we walked Great Bourne and Starling Dodd from Ennerdale. Very quiet on those two lesser known fells, but the carpark at Ennerdale was v busy. Drove home through central Lakes, and there was a big OMM event going on out of Grasmere. ( we’d noticed it on Saturday as well) That was a hot weekend of running for some people.
