I don't how big these things are marra, you just keep walking til you get to top 😆
Your picture gave me a flashback to a deeply hungover, probably still drunk, ramble up Loughrigg in my uni days. Obviously not then.

Sorry, Roo - no!
Rosehip takes today’s prize. High Seat it is. It has been so dry underfoot that we decided to venture onto the central fells for a circuit around Watendlath. Dry feet all day, although probably only on account of a bit of man-made intervention south of High Seat.

I don't remember a path - I remember wet feet and using Ralph as a depth gauge for the wet bits "a walk to wish on one's worst enemy" or whatever the actual phase Wainwright used for the bit between Bleaberry and High Seat (or was that the description of the north side?)
They were starting to fix the path down towards Ashness Bridge (just checked blog) June 2019 and it was a horrid rubbly mess then.

Has anyone (Tim excluded) visited Bell Crags in that area? Certainly the most imposing summit in Armboth range, why WW omitted it is a bit of a mystery. I had to revisit last year in order to bag it and that's after swearing I'd never go back up there!

The photo is close to the fence line between High Seat and High Tove. I suspect it never dries out there and I like the stone they have used and the way they have laid it. Really clever use of pipes too to prevent each section of “causeway” turning into a little dam.
Elsewhere, though, out to Armboth Fell and up to Bell Crags, it was almost invariably firm and dry or, at worst, spongey and dry.

NE - I’m sure you’ll know that Mark Richards has given it a chapter.
We stopped there for lunch yesterday - definitely worth the detour off the path. Great views down to Launchy Gill and beyond, although it was a bit hazy over the Helvellyn ridge.
