Picked a tick off one of the dogs before it buried in on Monday - was a good little reminder. Then freaked out ‘cos I dropped the bugger and wasn’t sure where it had gone.....

interesting fozzy - I get eaten alive by midges/horseflies/etc but rarely seem to pick up ticks, and when I do they tend not to bury themselves into me.

You can guess what's going to happen on tonight's run now...

I’ve had one tick ever and that was picked up near Portland Bill is a long way from the Lake District. I am a target for anything that bites insect wise and anywhere I’ve ever been

Spooky....I've never had a tick either but also get eaten alive by midges and live in active fear of horseflies as I react so very badly

Ticks are quite common down here on the moors - Dartmoor/Exmoor - but I don't think I've ever acquired one in the Lake District.

All I can say is that you gents have got something to look forward to. Midges, cleggs, horrible little bitey bastards also love me. I went years without getting a tick and well, you know what they say about buses

Never had issues with ticks but cleggs love me with drastic reactions!!

My MiL got a tick bite in the ‘80s and ended up with Lymes and suffered for years.

what is a clegg?

Midges and all bitey things love me. Why can't people have a Frontline equivalent to kill nits, flees and ticks and other bitey insect things?

I hate horseflies! clegg is a better word for them - makes them sound more like they need avoiding
