There's a number of good options NE: 100 route out through Boot via Burnmoor Tarn and then a boggy slog up over Broad Tongue or Hard Rigg following the gill; over SightSide from Wa House or various other points; or even just follow the Esk up the valley into Mickledore.

You can often go all day without seeing a soul until you hit the summits.

Beautiful in Eskdale yesterday and today. Short walk along the Esk yesterday, Slight Side today. Would’ve done Long Green and Slight Side but Phoebe was struggling. She’s asleep now.
Princess Cookie was fine and us sat outside the tent on guard.
