Time for a damage (& bad behaviour / rule breaking) deposit? Big enough that people don't think it's the refuse collection charge? But just sad ... |

Some spectacularly stupid responses to that.

Have you seen the pic of people sleeping on the roof of their car in Portinscale? There's a disconnect between the number of adverts and "look at this beautiful place" TV progs and newspaper articles - and the space for all the people responding. Even a local rag here just ran a stupid "10 quiet, beautiful places to walk in Hertfordshire" - well the ones I knew aren't exactly remote and deserted and ther certainly won't be quiet now, will they *rolls eyes* ? |

I've slept in my car in car parks a number of times having driven up late at night ready for an early start. Don't see the issue really? I'd much rather see this than them pitching tents along the road- or lakeside. |

sleeping in your car in a car park is one thing, sleeping on your car with two others sleeping it it, in a layby - and then leaving piles of bags of rubbish behind - is another thing altogether

The rubbish I'd agree with! But again no issue with sleeping in or on the car in the layby; at least they were only taking up one car's space rather than 4. People with vans regularly park up and sleep in laybys.
