Mountain rescue always there if you need it: grough.co.uk I’m not much cop at scrambling but I don’t recall Catbells being terribly scary. |

- I've actually never been over Catbells! (at least not in the last 40 years - mum think I walked it when I was about 5, but I don't remember) It's one I've been saving for a surprisingly decent weather day out of "season" I didn't think there was anything exposed or scary |

I’ll confess it wasn’t as easy as I wished at the end of Abraham’s Tea Round! But DS2 did it at 3 so can’t be that bad.

(that should be 50 yrs, not 40 I keep forgetting how ancient I am) Hatching a plan to get the expresso round in soon - not sure I'm up to the tea round on my own. |

Except for the crowds it is a great peak - amazing panorama, scrambly to keep it interesting, close enough to towns for small legs.

There are a couple of places, where you may want to use your hands. I saw a fell runner who was acting billy-big-boots and he took a tumble while descending. So I'd say it's not like a stroll up Skiddaw, but not as exciting as the last part of Causey Pike. |

I've seen someone get into a pickle on that part of Catbells, descending using walking poles rather than going up.

Done the Espresso round a few times. One when it was a bit icy up high so Causey was dicey in parts. Working my way up to the Tea Round!

FR, Kinky partially ruptured her achilles chasing Dave & I down Catbells, ironically by just hitting a random rock in the grass when it flattened out! And I've gone a over t on the track down from Yewthwaite to Little Town. It's always the little ones that cause trouble |
