Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I think Farah lived up to quite a lot of people's expectations - but they didn't expect much! (I expected a bit more, but I'm a fanboi)

It was a shame he didn't run as well as he did in Chicago on any of the times he ran in London.

It is an interesting choice; he's got the triathlon world at his fingertips at the moment. Is there more money / fame / kudos for being an elite marathoner?

He's probably getting a decent appearance fee to run so if it's something that interests him there's not really a downside.

Maybe he's thinking of moving up to ironman, in which case it could be a useful sighter.

Olympic tri is basically 2h anyway so he's got the stamina.

I suspect Mr Yee was offered a significant inducement to run. I also wouldn't be at all surprised if he had a really good race. It's certainly an extra incentive to me to make sure I'm in front of the television rather than doing another race that day.

Yes, I think Alex has been offered a sum to participate. As a professional athlete, I can't see him going via a charity. Assuming that he finishes, I strongly believe that he'll break 3 hours.

First SPOTY winner I've watched as a 13yo. Great result for athletics in spoty with Duplantis and Meadows / Painter getting the coaches nod.

See Laura Muir is now being coached by Cram and Weightman.

According to UK athletics (and in apparent contradiction to Laura’s post), Cram is a mentor and Weightman the coach, as cram doesn’t have a coaching license. Don’t suppose it makes a huge difference.
