Lol, I had my eyes tested last week! Barnard Castle is a nice place, I've never visited before.

😀 run free.

Today we drove to Hartlepool. No need to find a charging point. We have plugged in at the holiday cottage again and will have enough charge to get to Durham and back tomorrow.

Probably not much new here - theguardian.com - for folks on this thread, but another bit of exposure for electric cars and another flag for confusing charging infrastructure.

tOR, I find articles like that a bit annoying and damaging to "selling" EV as mainstream and not just geeky niche.

He admits himself that his main reason for "range anxiety" is his own poor organisation. He wasn't able to use the most ubiquitous charging network in Scotland because he didn't sign up for it.

Part of that is definitely an important problem with the charging infrastructure, which is a really stupid one, is that they are run by different companies and that they have put barriers up to using each other's services. A simple solution is required to make them all interoperable. For instance, just forcing them all to take a contactless card would be a start!

Thanks for posting though! :-) G

I've just bought an electric car! First of my family to go. Fingers crossed now!

It should be here mid-August or so.

Trading in my VW T-Cross for a VW ID.3! Life Pro model.

I was on the fence, until I did the maths on the cost of petrol over electric. Over a 10k mile year the difference was £800 (based on home charging).

My biggest, regular round trip journey is 150 miles. So I was holding off until I could easily complete that journey plus a little bit of travelling around while out and home safely.

Have my Pod Point charge point being installed today!
