Our new car got delivered last night at 17:45. Set off at 09:30 from Stonehaven with the car saying a range of 302 miles (which was wrong but the car is brand new and only had 7 miles on the clock). We are now parked at the Rosyth Service station Instavolt place. I registered with them last night and was checking the app nervously in the car on the way down and both charging units were free. Plugged in fine, the car was at 140 miles range when we plugged in. We've travelled 100 miles. Looking to charge up to 100% and continue to Faceby on North Yorkshire. It's 194 miles from here. Hopefully we won't have to charge again!

The drawback to this place is no toilets. We are sitting on a grass verge having pack lunch and flask is tea, I'm not letting the kids eat inside the car yet 😉

Lol! Lovely new Leaf mrs s. Glad it arrived. Have a great hols in Yorkshire.

I love that you are doing a hundreds of miles trip the day you get your EV. No range restrictions in your electric world then?! (I know you've been electric for some time, so I guess you know what you are doing.) :-) G

You're on Device 2 (according to Zap Map, Device 2 is charging, 1 isn't!) 40p per kWh though - ouch! Still less than £25 for a full charge compared to £50 for petrol/diesel, but much more than the £3 to charge at home! :-) G

So if they did have toilets, you'd be sitting on those having a packed lunch and flask of tea, and that's where the kids would be eating :-) ??!?

Hope you enjoy the car and the rest of the trip is hassle free. And you find some toilets!

Ah, but only 7kW for a home charging, so it would have then them 7.12 times as long (more rapid chargers are 50kW out there now)! :-) G

You're such a twonk larks - I'm pretty sure her "no toilets" and "pack lunch on a verge" were separated by a full stop. :-P
