Wintee, rest now, I've had the bug for a week, very frustrating but better now then on Sunday. My number arrived on Friday, can't remember colour. Managed an 8 miler on Sunday but didn't feel that good, happy I did it though. Thanks for the tips on how to get to start/finish, will get some postcodes now.... Have a great final week guys. I'm trying the carb starve/protein load for the next couple of days then loads of carbs from Weds. Hope it works out.... I'm running for Mind |

Thats sad but predicatable that numbers are affected by the organisation woes from the past. We could end up either losing the event of having to pay extra, for what is already an expensive event, £18 more than London. I hope that we get a good race this year. Ive not been down to musselburgh and I am still woried about the entrance to the finish as it was accessible only via a small gate with railings around to create a chicane IIRC. Hopefully we dont have that to negotiate at about 26.1 miles. On the plus side I just saw a weather forecast that I like, mid teens, bit of cloud and a light northeasterly wind. |

Ok, the Wash bar room is available from 15.00 til 19.30 atm, and could possibly be for longer. I can book it but for him to provide a barmaid we have to spend £350 in drinks. This is easily achieved if a lot are interested, but as there seems to be a little apathy I'm a bit worried we won't make the numbers. The other option is we have the room with no bar, and just go up and down for drinks, which is ok? Depending on quads of course! He serves food too. Or I can just look for a larger pub and we can sit in the corner? It would be nice to have a room though so we can spread out a bit. He did say locals were a bit peeved it wasn't finishing in the town. |

SpeedyMel, last year's post race drinks were organised by jammylu, which I attended, think the plan that time was to arrive 1900 onwards, we had the upstairs to ourselves, memory a bit hazy about how drinks were served (I was more interested in sneaking in a fish supper for post marathon recovery ;)). £350 does sound a lot given there may be very few fetchies gathering. oh, and it's great fun watching folk go up and down those stairs don't mind what you organise, I'll aim to be there

Well Fetchies, it looks like we're "sans Fetchpoint" as the Frenchies say... We will just have to compensate by being super-Fetchie-lovers during the race. Let's keep each other going and we can have 26.2 Fetchpoints! |
