OMG, race week arrives and as is traditional so does the weather. Tonights run was hot hot hot and the forecast is for it to hot up more ! Good news is that the mornings are cool and today there was a thick east coast haar. Hopefully we get a couple of hours of OK conditions before it gets too hot.

I think the variation in temperature forecasts is because it is to be a bit cooler on the coast than it is further in the mainland. Cooling breeze would be ......ehh.... cool!
Not wearing my Fetch top but will be wearing my Fetch buff on ma heid

Oh dear! 5 miles at 5pm yesterday - complete nightmare. Dehydrated before the first mile, really felt defeated and unable to do Edinburgh as the heat was unbearable. But then I woke up this morning with a bit less fear and acceptance that it will be what it will be. I do wonder how much more water I need to take on board in the heat/sun. I think I may have actually drunk too much last year at London. Hydration is easy in the cool/wet and I'm just wondering if there is a simple sum to apply if it's hot/sunny (i.e 2 or 3 times as much?). I realise we're all different but just wondering how hydration can be balanced in the heat......
Actually, now having thought a bit more I did 17 miles at the Bournemouth HM in April and that was hot/sunny, the coast does make a difference so last night may not have been a good run to gauge Sunday on....

Can we get a message to all Edinburgh residents to get their hosepipes out for us guys? How is support on route? Many miles in isolation?

FP, where are you based?
I'm in London and it's scorchio but Edinburgh will be cooler than the south (I'm an exile; I speak from experience).
The temperature won't get up until about noon and even then it won't be humid heat; it's Scotland not Texas!
Drink sensibly and tip water over your head and you'll be fine. Maybe not a PB day but it's not Badwater either...

FP, looking at your times, I think you'll be fine.
A 2 hour half should get you a 4/30 mara comfortably (that's really not the word to use, but you know what I mean...)
If you were looking for an hour from 3/45, maybe not!
