SpeedyMel, I do think there's been a drop off in interest in the Edinburgh marathon this year. There's been too many mistakes made by the organisers in previous years. I was told on our club run this morning that our club has only half the runners doing this year compared to last.

I'd be disappointed if there isn't a Fetchpoint this year, it's been great in the past. I have the Fetchpoint banner and other stuff in my house if anyone does decide to take it on.

Last year JammyLu booked upstairs at the Wash pub which was a great success. I've not heard that anything has been organised this year.

I'm going to the meal the night before for the first time this year as normally I get all stressed before a marathon but having done two already this year I'm more relaxed and can face company the night before, see you there :-)

TripletDad is right, and I'm getting worried about there being no Fetchpoint :-( I was going to offer the post race drinks too but if you want to book it, SpeedyMel, go ahead, and ask Metal Martin to stick the details in the thread header for everyone. Got to have the chance to unwind and have a post race analysis with fellow Fetchies :-)

I was worried when SpeedyMel wanted to "meat" some Fetchies and said she'd be starving. :-O

Good news, Dick! See you on the start line.

Speedymel, I have to work the next morning since I can't get other holidays at work so can't do a meet after the race but do intend crawling to the on site beer tent for a pint, maybe we could all start with a fetch table there?

Wintee, hope you feel better soon, take it easy all week and let your body recover.

Terrified now peeps, I'm going to spend the rest of the week sticking my fingers in my ears and singing la la la when anyone asks me about the marathon

Lack of Fetchpoint?!?! This would be a terrible thing...

Does no kindly soul want to feel our unending love and gratitude as we pass? I'm running it but if there's any assistance I can give before hand (and from London...) I'm happy to help.

Re what TD said about the interest in the Edinburgh Mrathon. I had a look back at the number of Fetchies registered to run this race in the last 3 years and this year:
2009:439
2010: 344
2011: 334.

This year it is only 149.
