Hester says thanks very much to being awarded newt of the day!

She's been back out a few more times but has yet to work out how to get back in through the cat flap, bless her :-)

My newt for today was eating rad nah noodles in the pub for lunch. They came with chicken and loads of veg which made them feel a bit healthier than other noodles. I will be having a pretty light dinner to balance it out though.

I'm watching The Pursuit of Happyness for the first time. It's a tough watch atm.

I went to the Firstsite Gallery in Colchester for the first time today. I went primarily to see the Grayson Perry exhibition - The Life of Julie Cope. It was interesting but I thought there would be more of it really.

Would I go to Firstsite again... yes probably but I don't enjoy going to Colchester very much so it I doubt I would go that often. However I should try to find time to go to other galleries and exhibitions locally I think.

I watched a bit of the carnival parade in Girona. Delightful - full of colour, smiling happy people and a great samba band. Just what we needed on a gloomy wet afternoon at the end of a holiday :-)

Isn't it a bit late for carnival parades Alice? Aren't we into the period of sackcloth and ashes now?
