Walk was lovely, though I was over-dressed.

For the first time ever I have mailed the boss and said NO I am not happy doing the cover you have me down for

When I say ever I actually mean in my working career as I always say yes and struggle along to do stuff.

Feel really bad actually not liberated!

I've just picked up the stitches for the neckband of a jumper on two long circular needles because I'd sewn up both shoulders before discovering that I didn't have one 40cm circular in the right size. Never done that before. There are sticks and wires going everywhere but it'll be fine and it makes it easier to try it on before casting off.

Gets easier, Pix. I say no quite a lot. Sometimes "no, I can't do that this time because ..." and sometimes "no, I won't do that".

First ride with real local club mates! Yes it was on zwift but great to have some real chat with real people after living such a virtual life for much of the past year. Gearing up for real life club riding and running from April. (It was last night but I’m carrying it over.)

Lockdown has mostly been gentle on me but I am heartily sick of it right now. My heart goes out to those who’ve had a properly tough time.

Sometimes it’s good to be assertive, Pix. Something I wasn’t good at in my teaching career and I don’t think it did me any favours. :(

Loving the newts. Hopefully will have a more interesting one later.

That more interesting than my one from yesterday. Everyone else’s are far more interesting.

That *means* more interesting than my one from yesterday. Everyone else’s are far more interesting.

Not got my reading glasses on. Sorry.

Today's newt is a bit mundane. Went out for my cycle-walk-cycle before having coffee and toast. Hoping it will give me more time to do stuff around the house, although I'm starving now ;-)

Thanks HP! :-) Sarah I will see if I can get the video into a blog later.

Listened to another Learn French podcast. This one was about how France has become the ‘benchmark’ (useful word there...) for animated films. I don’t know much about the film industry, but I dispute that...

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
