We have a newt fixed rate on the mortgage - much much lower than the old one! Annoyingly I found out we could have switched deals before the last fix ended, so we've wasted quite a lot, but it's done now.

That's exactly the sort of thing I do (or rather don't do quickly enough) Lizzie. But you have done it now ...so HURRAH1

My big newt today is to get in touch with an artist to discuss a commission. I'm very excited.
I have also bought some more Premium Bonds. I should have bought some when I retired but I didn't think to. I've had my lump sum sitting in the bank wondering what to do with it whilst interest rates are so rubbish. Today I acted!

That is exciting Gimme. What is the commission - or would you rathe rnot say yet? :-)

Raffo is just finishing one - someone wanted a Raffo style print of their house, with various members of the family at the windows AND the visiting cat on the doorstep... he agonised over the likenesses but it has gone well, so everyone is happy.

I've decided my real newt today is completing six days of 'proper' hard, relevant, athletics training for the first time this year. I've done a whole month of a Jennis fitness challenge - but this is closer to what I was doing last autumn, so I'm quite pleased.

Two weeks 'til tracks open - I can't wait!

Raffo's commission sound wonderful!
I've asked Fetchie phal to do a drawing of Mad Dog Jess as a surprise for Mr GM to cheer him up. I love her art and have been pondering on this for a while. I got Mr GM to pick his favourite photo of Jess and then have been liaising with phal by stealth.

I’m wondering now Sharkie reading about Raffo’s commission if you both might know my friend Erica? She’s a well known Hastings resident and designer! We catch up on zoom occasionally!

Talking of catching up I’ve been feeling a bit newt less but I did meet up with a friend in a park in the next town on the way back from my mums today! We Walked her dog 2 laps around the park! I actually cried happy tears when she arrived! to just meet up with another human and do something nice and normal has really lifted me up!

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
