Chose a different route and got a good pace on some of the intervals. Now watching the TV coverage of the European Championship athletics and sipping hot chocolate. Lovely Saturday morning.

Ignore the watch, extra walks if I fancy them, stop and enjoy the view etc. A lovely run through the RSPB HQ grounds - woodpeckers and all sorts of finches and tits. Was fab - and, it turns out, was no slower than my usual run-walk pace.

One was 'cookie dough' and the other was 'cheesecake'. OMG they were quite sickly... we decided the thought of them was better than the experience, and we both have a sweet tooth. Apparently there are limits

Another newt to go with my 5 a.m. cleaning of the kitchen newt. Every single thing is now out of our loft. It's currently all on the landing underneath where the ladder goes but it will be sorted and disposed of or otherwise dealt with by the end of today!

The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.
