It’s a tough decision for Newt of the day, top 3 are:

LindsD for longest run of 8 miles

SarahWoo for fastest 3.2 mile run
Sharkie for letting her magazines go, I know what they mean to her.

Still deliberating....

I was going to say that, too.

Thanks, MrsJ. A podium!

I'm the same as Sharkie - I do read the magazines when I get them but hang on to them because they have something in them that 'might be useful' although I have no idea what I thought might be useful from the 2007 one that went in the recycling this morning.

Worse still - I have *several* folders containing only pages from magazines of things that I also thought 'might be useful' but were not worth keeping the entire magazine for. I probably need to do a cull of those too. If I'd kept all those magazines and not just torn out the odd page here and there I imagine I'd have no space in my study for my desk and chair!

BBL- I used to do that with Runners World magazines! Got rid when we moved house :-) The only magazine I get now is my professional one which I read and then bin- everything is online if I need to refer to it again.

I did read every single copy of Vogue Knitting in the late 90s. Just not sure why I’m still hoarding so many! I really do need to go through them and cull some but getting my craft room sorted first is the priority!

WA -it's a house move that's prompting this cull of magazines too. However I'm not being quite as ruthless as I should be really!

I am exactly the same but last January I took all the running mags I’d hordes to work and people took them away. My biggest issue has been good food Mags I subscribe time to time. I’ve been getting rid but have a huge pile of recipes I might like to do one day along with more cookery books than I can possibly need. (Just ordered 2 more too 😂) yet still stick the the faves!! Shoot me now

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
