I do find the description of support for self-determination as a 'grievance-based approach'.
Continuing to point out the fault lines in the present settlement is valid and legitimate. The Unionists who shout about 'grievances' are devaluing the meaning of the word and attempting to delegitimise valid arguments. It also provides cover to not address them directly.

Missed 'frustrating' from the end of the first sentence in post above.

Jda. The status quo is not seeking change or not change of the type independence brings.
Surely not. I could say the same about project fear. However my view is that anti Tory or Westminster grievance is the main approach by the snp.

Bazo - interesting point about waiting for old people to die. Of course by the time they do, they’re replaced with a new batch of old people who may end up thinking the same as the previous cohort
It doesn’t sound like your risk appetite would ever allow you to vote for independence to me. But like I said, I do get that

And it should be noted that the term 'Project Fear' was termed by the Better Together campaign to describe their strategy.

I hadnt heard that before surely not. A bit of an own goal if that is the case. And one the independence (and Brexit) campaign use to good effect
Fields. Independence now seems to be pretty entrenched with a very small pool of floating voters. You are right as things stand I cannot see me changing my view but have suggested what I think could be done to try and get my vote.

Bazo, “status quo” has brought you Brexit, the near-collapse of the NHS (though maybe you’re better off than England still) and £4000 energy bills. Some status quo!
IMO it’s a bit disingenuous to present the choice as “big scary change” vs “same old”. Things always change. Currently, the changes are imposed by a Tory govt that gets nugatory support in Scotland.
