What's Blowers done now? I think he's shot, tbh. Still great at the anecdotes and buffoonery, but when there's any actual action he gets really confused, can't keep up then has to spend the next 2 mins unravelling his mistakes and correcting himself. |

Blowers has been on the way out for a few years now. Misidentifying players, action, modes of dismissal; apparently he called Moeen Ali Muhammad Ali at one stage yesterday... It's a shame, he's a dear old thing. |

I've only heard snippets but age comes to us all. His workload is being reduced but Daggers (Chuckles I think Tuffers calls him) is an able replacement. He did notice a really big aeroplane earlier, I looked it up on Flightradar and it was an A380 so he was right about that!

Must be 3 or 4 years ago we had Lashings at our club. I was scoring and had Blowers sitting next to me doing a commentary over the PA. Was surprised then at how frail he seemed.

Cheg
Just flicked on to see how the cricket was going and saw Cook had declared with him on 49, that was big of him. Thought he'd take the extra five minutes to get himself a 50. Guess if he wanted them in for a couple of overs tonight he had to rush.

Here's an entertaining few minutes - and the older you are, the more interesting it gets. Think back to the first Test Match you can recall watching. For me, it's this one: espncricinfo.com Those eleven players are your first generation. Fast forward until the point where they've all played their last match for the team. For me, Goochy was the last to go I think, and made it until this match (an away Ashes): espncricinfo.com So generation two begins with the next match, which was a home series against the Windies: espncricinfo.com The eleven that play in this match are my second generation. When the last of them retire, you enter a third generation, and so on. It's a nice way to look through old matches and old names. How many generations have you seen? |

My third generation began with the exit of Graham Thorpe, at the start of the 2005 Ashes: espncricinfo.com |

So, very excitingly if Ian Bell doesn't make it back into the team, this could be generation four that are playing right now I'd better go do some work.

Guess I'm similar generations to Fetch here (similar ages and all) who will be defined by Goochie as the start of their first generation. More so for me as someone who grew up in Essex in the 80s!
