I'll have to try and work out that generational stuff from 1975, i think it could well be gooch.......

For me, starting with the first test i saw (although if it was first i remember the answer would be the same) 1964 Eng v Aus Old Trafford G. Boycott 1982 Ind v Eng Calcutta G. Gooch 1995 Aus v Eng Perth G. Thorpe 2005 Eng v Ban Chester-Le-Street I. Bell Assuming that he is retired, i speculate that it will be Joe Root next.
