The other trouble with KP is (other than being a South African 2nd Elevener) is he's a total liability quite often when batting, and doesn't bat as per the situation demands, just does what he feels like. How many times have we had an hour left, need to bat through and his first shot, attempted wahoo over the bowlers head lands just passed a fielder, second hook and caught behind after top edge. And it's not just once, it's all the time. The man is an imbecile, and his occasional mercurial innings don't make up for the fact, that his 200s will come with about 10 innings below 20. And then given the fact he's a disruptive influence. DONT LET HIM COME BACK

KP England no way.
However his stint on TMS was very good. He certainly knows the modern game extremely well. Good to hear from someone not part of the establishment . Ex England captains tend to be a bit too diplomatic in their utterances to make for good radio.

He definitely knows his stuff. I also think he's been inconsiderately treated here; this whole blowing hot and cold, maybe you can, maybe you can't come back thing is unfair on anyone and doesn't exactly give the ECB the moral high ground either.

That doesn't mean I think he should come back. I reckon he was dividing the dressing room exactly the way he's divided the fans now.

Meanwhile, Piers Moron is talking a very good fight against Brian Moore. Not clever, that.

The KP decision probably is the right one, but the ECB have done it for the wrong reasons. Principally to back Cook up and because neither Cook or Strauss like him. Worse, there is no doubt that Strauss' anti KP credentials got him the job - they were never going to risk Stewart or Vaughan arguing for his return.

The cricket reasons are enough. This looks like an old boys clique ganging up on the outsider. On top of that, they have bungled the entire process and turned it into a clusterfuck.

Heard the Gaffer on Newsnight telling it how it is, can't understand what he's done wrong to not get involved in the England setup.

No one will remember this if we regain the Ashes. Given how piss-poor we are at the moment, highly unlikely. :(

That accusation of playing a 10 or 20 and then getting out. Nonsense. You might as well say - that Cook, see off the new ball and then dangle his bat out there and get done in the slips. Gower used to get it in the neck in the same way. Absurd.

Whereas a player in another country who is given licence to attack - how about say... Brendon McCullum. It often doesn't work for him, but he is given total licence to play his game because if and when it comes off NZ win. Funny I don't heat England supporters slagging him off but instead admiring his free-spirited approach. Double standards.

And this match situation is nonsense. I've seen KP play slow blocking innings, and I haven't seen any other England batsman able to pace an innings - particularly at limited overs - like him. Able to play himself in and then go through the gears. And I've never see him play for a red-inker like a few batsmen - he's given his wicket in the name of quick runs. Absolute nonsense this playing for himself.

Funny how there are so many genuine world class players from around the world who get on perfectly fine with him...

There is a big difference between trying to win and trying not to lose.

The problem was is and always will be KP, he has pissed off every team he has ever played in. Ok Graves made a mess of it, but it does not mater what they said or how they went about it. Morgon and KP would have twisted it around.

Shame, as we have the basis of a decent team again......bowling apart.
