Root is shot through now,so plug a gap for a summer or two. Broad did do well, what is not clear is would he do as well if he had played the first 3 tests. It seems maybe he should have, but that would make England's attack Robinson, Broad, Anderson + whoever for the first 3 tests and like Robinson they could all be screwed by now. The batting has totally failed,so it would still be 3-0. Who knows except I reckon Root is done as captain, as are Burns as opener and Buttler as keeper, and perhaps Stokes at 5. I hope Hameed gets a score. Bairstow, who knows. Best to be out of the team at present.
